Bayern Munich Launch £34.5m Bid for Chelsea Defender David Luiz
The Brazilian’s future at Chelsea has been the subject of intense speculation all summer.
Bayern Munich are set to renew their interest in Chelsea defender David Luiz and will offer the Blues £34.5 million to sign the Brazilian centre back, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Luiz has been the subject of intense speculation all summer long, with reports suggesting that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was keen to cash in on the defender and spend the proceeds on his own transfer targets.
Bayern Munich claimed that they had no interest in signing Luiz earlier this month but now Pep Guardiola has told the clubs hierarchy that he wants the Brazilian at the Allianz Arena.
Although Luiz is not pushing for a move away from Stamford Bridge, he will consider offers from clubs outside of the Premier League as he has no interest in moving to another English team.
Both Paris St Germain and Barcelona are thought to be interested in signing the centre back, who has become a key figure in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Brazil team.
Chelsea may consider accepting an offer of £34.5 million as it means that Mourinho has money to strengthen the Blues squad, with the Portuguese manager desperate to sign a top quality striker for the start of the Premier League season.
