[FIRED]: Sunderland sacks Paolo Di Canio as manager

Sunderland has announced that head coach Paolo di Canio was fired on Sunday evening after just six months on the job.

Sunderland are currently bottom of the table and the team hasn’t managed to bag win from the first five games of the new season.
Along with this poor start, Paolo di Canio wasn’t getting on well with the players as of late and he locked horns with a few of them in a training ground meeting following the team’s 3-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. So for many Sunderland fans, the news that di Canio has been sacked was inevitable (this guy certainly saw it coming).
Here’s what the club had to say on the Sunderland website: “Sunderland AFC confirms that it has parted company with head coach Paolo Di Canio this evening.

“Kevin Ball will take charge of the squad ahead of Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup game against Peterborough United and an announcement will be made in due course regarding a permanent successor.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Paolo and his staff and wishes them well for the future.
According to the Guardian, the final straw for di Canio came when Sunderland’s owner Ellis Short got wind of di Canio’s heated argument with players at the weekend. While no replacements have been announced, rumours suggest it could be between Roberto Di Matteo or even Gus Poyet.
