The Gunners stumbled out of the Premier League blocks on the opening weekend, but then spent big to land Ozil on transfer deadline day and have not looked back.
Only two defeats have been suffered in all competitions since coming up short against Aston Villa, and one of those was avenged in midweek as they edged out Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.

Man United v Arsenal at Old Trafford, and we are underdogs? Moyes speaks on the Super Sunday game
United trail Arsene Wenger's side by eight points in the table, with the North London club unbeaten in the Premier League since their opening day loss to Aston Villa, although the current champions have not suffered defeat in any of their last eight games.
If selected, the 39-year old would face the in-form Gunners for the 50th time in his career, but despite Arsenal being the bookmakers' favourites for the game, Giggs believes that the hosts are undeserving of this tag.
"Man United v Arsenal at Old Trafford, and we are underdogs?" he said.
"I wouldn't say we were underdogs. But I take the point that Arsenal are the form team and it is going to be a tough game.

[Capital One Cup]: Manchester United vs. Norwich City - Review - 29th October 2013
Manchester United are chasing a third home win in the space of a week when tackling Norwich City at Old Trafford in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
The Red Devils are still struggling to find a consistent level of performance under David Moyes, but will be buoyed by successive wins in different competitions.
A lively display secured a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the UEFA Champions League last week before United twice came from behind to beat Stoke City 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Javier Hernandez came off the bench to head the winner against Stoke and he scored the only goal in the last round of the Capital One Cup when United saw off old rivals Liverpool.
The Mexican striker is likely to start against Norwich, with Moyes expected to give a few of his fringe players an opportunity to impress.

Manchester United boss David Moyes rubbishes reports of rift with Robin van Persie
Manchester United manager David Moyes has rubbished reports suggesting that he has suffered a falling out with Robin van Persie.
It has been speculated that the Dutch striker is unhappy with some of the methods introduced following a first managerial change at Old Trafford in 27 years.
Tension is said to have mounted on the training field ahead of Van Persie being left out of United's side for a UEFA Champions League clash with Real Sociedad on Wednesday.
Moyes, though, claims Van Persie could not be happier and his absence in midweek was due to a prior arrangement regarding management of toe and groin complaints.

Manchester United boss David Moyes declined to comment on reports of a new contract for Wayne Rooney but lauded the striker at the end of a week that reignited doubts over his Old Trafford future.
Sir Alex Ferguson reiterated in a new autobiography released on Thursday his claim that Rooney wanted to leave in the summer, also calling into question the England forward's fitness.
Rooney, who has scored five United goals this season, glossed over comments in the Scot's memoir after a midweek victory over Real Sociedad, preferring instead to emphasise his rapport with the new man in charge.

United boss David Moyes wants England to rest Wayne Rooney
Moyes believes it could be the perfect time to hand the striker a breather to ensure he is fit and firing for next summer's World Cup finals in Brazil.
England take on Chile on November 15 before taking on Germany four days later and with United facing six matches in three weeks before the friendlies, Moyes feels Rooney should be excused from international action.
"If we want a fit and firing Wayne Rooney at the World Cup it might be better giving him a week's holiday," said Moyes.
"England have one more international after Christmas against Denmark in March so this might be the one to rest him.

For David, winning a trophy would be a fantastic achievement - Sir Alex
Moyes has endured a difficult start at Old Trafford since replacing his fellow Scot as manager of United during the summer.
United are currently eight points behind Premier League pacesetters Arsenal, but are undefeated in both of their Champions League games this season and have progressed in the Capital One Cup.
Ferguson is confident the former Everton manager can succeed with United with an abundance of support behind the scenes, but he reckons Moyes should not be intimidated by following in his footsteps.

Sir Alex says he never had influence over referees during his career
Sir Alex Ferguson has denied suggestions he may have had influence over referees during his decorated career.
Comments from former official Mark Halsey this week, in which he referred to having a "good relationship" with the Scot, led to claims Ferguson may have had undue influence during his long stay in charge of Manchester United.
Ferguson denied any wrongdoing, though, and said the extent of his relationship with Halsey had been to support him during his battle with cancer.
"I can't believe...obviously there is an Alex Ferguson element in his book, he thought was important," the former United manager told MUTV.

Rooney: I'm happy to be in a position where I get the opportunity to score goals
Wayne Rooney has declared that it is an honour to have scored 200 goals for Manchester United and has thanked the fans for the support they have given him since the start of the season.
There was uncertainty about Rooney's future during the summer after outgoing manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed at the end of last term that he had asked for a transfer, and Chelsea were interested in signing him.
However, United always insisted he was not for sale and the striker has kept his focus on performing as well as possible.
The fans have continued to give Rooney their backing and he was particularly moved by the ovation he received as he was substituted against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night, having netted twice to reach the landmark of 200 goals for the club.

[MUST READ]: Moyes speaks on why Kagawa has'nt played in a while
Manchester United manager David Moyes insists Shinji Kagawa's absence from the Barclays Premier League so far this season is no reflection on his ability.
Many supporters have been left mystified by Kagawa's omission, particularly given United only collected one win from their first three games.
Yet Moyes is adamant there is nothing sinister going on.
"There are quite a lot of players who have not featured yet," he said.
"But if you look at it most of them were late back from international duty after the Confederations Cup, then they were away for a friendly international and a long-haul flight, then they were away again for another international.
"If you look at the reasons why people haven't played it is more to do with them not being available for that to happen."
